Integration and Interface Development

Integration / Interface development is not glamorous work.  However our experience has shown that it is one of the key variables determining the success or failure of a project.  Interfaces are often written off as simply a mapping exercise when in reality the business logic associated with them can become quite complex.  Questions like "should cash be represented as trade or settlement date cash?" or "how should we handle index and currency options?" inevitably arise from differences in how various systems process instrument types and situations differently.  Our experience dealing with these "exception" situations allows us to anticipate and quickly work out a solution.  Remember, without reliable and timely data nothing is going to work right.
